About Associated Spinners

Associated Spinners (Pty) Ltd was established in 1964 by the Italian Magni family near Johannesburg in the old mining town known as Randfontein. The fully vertical worsted spinning plant was created for the manufacture of high quality dyed and blended high bulk acrylic yarns in order to service a growing knitting yarn industry.

The company continues today as a privately owned manufacturing unit of specialized yarns that has evolved to produce high quality, primarily acrylic, open end yarns for the blanket sector and fine weaving yarns for the upholstery and outdoor furnishing sector.

As part of the ARANDA TEXTILE GROUP of companies, the need for development of high quality yarns has allowed us to develop technology specific to our requirements in conjunction with a number of the top European machine manufacturers – the benefits of which have been mutual.

In 1985 the plant was relocated to the industrial estate of Isithebe. Today Associated Spinners is proud to be one of the biggest and oldest employers in the Isithebe industrial estate in KwaZulu-Natal.

The company occupies in excess of 22,000 m² of manufacturing factory space, which consists of modern dyeing, spinning and twisting operations.

Recent investments have added chenille manufacturing to our operation, a project which promises huge potential for the future.

The company has the capacity to spin over 350 tons of yarn per month in a variety of count ranges to suit most applications.
